Small Groups

National Park Travel Club provides seating for 20 travelers aboard the Expedition Cruiser. Small groups give guests the ability to fully relax and not be rushed. The Expedition Cruiser gives travelers ample room to see the region with full views, space to relax, and the full attention from their guides. Fewer people equal more focus and less hassle.

Lodging

The criteria for lodging is based on several factors that will impact your adventure. We do our best to choose lodging that is 4 and 5 start lodging, but experience has taught us that everyone has a different interpretation of 4- and 5-star lodging. When choosing to lodge the primary factors we consider are:

  • Reputable —The hotel has a reputation for providing a safe, clean service that would meet the expectation of discerning travelers. National Park and National Scenic Areas do not always offer lodging options that are 4- and 5-star quality. Strategic locations on lakes, rivers, ocean beaches or inside the National Park are often 3-star quality. They are, however, clean, safe and provide good sleeping quarters. When 4- or 5-star lodging is routed with our unique itineraries, we will always choose these properties when available.
  • Location—We choose hotels that minimize the commute on the Expedition Cruiser. Our goal is to make time in your destination as efficient and comfortable as possible. Spending an extra hour of commute each day to get back or to a hotel is not consistent with our tour culture.
  • Convenient to multiple food options—Although some of the hotel choices we choose offer a limited offering of restaurant options because of how remote they are, we focus on properties that give guests an opportunity to explore dining options that meet their cravings and interest.
  • Activity-Focused—We make best effort to choose lodging that gives guests an opportunity to explore on their own such as walking trails, hiking options, beach access, fishing, shopping districts, water activities, and historical or educational opportunities.

Meals

chefFood is a big part of most everyone’s vacation experience. When we travel to remote destinations our goal is to have food enhance the experience and not take from it. Our trips are routed with multiple dining out options that include the cost of breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day on the tour. Most of our meals are served in restaurants with multiple options to choose from. While on the Excursion Cruiser, meals are strategically prepared to offer dining experiences that are fresh, made-to-order and maximize your time at your destination. Crafting meals that are sensitive to food allergies and nutrition choices is as equally important to our guests as the creative and tasty options that are provided while in these remote destinations. While the sun is up, and the light is available we focus on more time in the park and less time in lines and waiting for food. Enjoying a hand-crafted meal on the banks of a majestic river makes the experience complete and satisfying. In addition to crafted meals, the guest is also offered daily appetizers, treats and a full-service drink menu that includes wine, beer and any type of beverage requested in advance of the tour for each guest’s pleasure. Fresh seasonal fruit is always in stock on the Expedition Cruiser throughout the day and of course, all snacks, appetizers desserts, and beverages are included in the all-inclusive price.

Attractions

National Park Travel Club provides travel solution with multi-generational options. Activities are classified in our itineraries as Leisure, Adventure and Scenic.

Tour itineraries are built strategically to have a complete offering for all ages and activity levels. Some activities may not be of interest to some travelers, so they are not always included in the price of the tour. Below is a description of the types of activities that would be a part of a National Park Travel Club itinerary.

Leisure

Scenic walking trails, vistas, waterfalls, and other park attractions that are accessible regardless of your activity level. These attractions are available to most travelers and enjoyed by those seeking a relaxing vacation that is easy on the eyes and easy on the knees.

Adventure

Rafting, paddle boarding, canoeing, horseback riding, zip lining, gondola rides, fishing, windsurfing, aggressive hiking trails, golf, and bike riding are examples of options that are available on most tours. While some of these attractions may be included in the all-inclusive price, most of these options are add-on features that guests can choose from at an additional cost.

Educational

Museums, interpretive centers, visitors’ centers, and historical markers, all enhance the guide’s interpretation of the region’s human history, geology, flora and fauna, and lifestyle of the people of the region. This is always included in the tour as well as one-on-one opportunities with the guides to better understand the full value of our treasured National Parks.

Cultural and Human History

Every region and National Park offers a unique history and present that makes the destination so special. Native Americans, Frontiersman, Trappers, Settlers, Miners and iconic people in our nation’s brief history have contributed to the fascinating stories that make our National Parks and surrounding attractions so appealing. Our guides interpret the region but also include the stories of the people who developed the region into the treasures they are today. Connecting each National Park Travel Club guest with the local art, music, and creativity of the region is a key objective on each tour.

Culinary and Farm to Table

Farm to TableOur goal at National Park Travel Club is to help involve our guests in an immersion into the local culinary and beverage options and gain a new perspective through the eyes of the artisans, farmers, and chefs that bring life to this fascinating area of tourism. Because not all guests are interested in wine tasting, breweries, distilleries, and farm-to-table options, these attractions are not always included depending on the type of tour it is but is made available when the route and schedule allow.

Luggage Handling

Included your all-inclusive tour is the porterage of luggage to and from your hotel room when arriving or departing.

Transfers to and from airport

Transfers to and from the airport are included in your all-inclusive tour. Arrangements are made by National Park Travel Club which will include either the Expedition Cruiser, shuttle bus, cab, or other scheduled transportation.
